Visité a algunas mujeres de la colonia El Barrerito. En estos días hablamos del presente, el agua y los sueños. Los sueños de agua. Me compartieron sus sueños y encontré que había algo en común: todos eran sueños de río.
Las retraté a ellas y a sus ojos de agua. Los bananos quemados por la helada reciente, las mangueras que atraviesan pozos y cultivos con agua que escasea durante la sequía, cada vez más frecuente. Los charcos en la tierra que deja la tormenta. El arroyo, cada vez más bajo.
Este trabajo intenta exponer el problema que existe hoy con este recurso tan vital y que nos hicieron creer infinito pero también es un homenaje a ellas, a sus sueños y al río.
Sueños de río nació en Barrerito, Misiones en la Residencia Existimos estallidxs durante agosto de 2021. Wara Vargas, nuestra guía de haceres y sentires nos compartió el deseo de pensar el agua y nuestro territorio.
I visited some women from El Barrerito area. Those days we talk about the present, water and dreams. Water dreams. They shared their dreams with me and I found that there was something in common: they were all river dreams.
I portrayed them and their water eyes. Bananas burned by the recent frost, hoses running through wells and crops with scarce water during the increasingly frequent drought. The puddles on the ground left by the storm. The creek, getting lower and lower.
This work tries to expose the problem that exists today with this vital resource that they made us believe is infinite, but it is also a tribute to them, to their dreams and the river.
